South Metropolitan TAFE

School Based Traineeships in Certificate II in Engineering

South Metropolitan TAFE has been promoting School Based Traineeships in Certificate II in Engineering to potential employers.

Are you interested in studying Engineering as part of your WACE or looking for an alternative entry point into the Engineering sector?

To be eligible for this exciting opportunity students must be either in Years 10 or 11 and be aged 15 years and older.

School Based Traineeships are generally completed over an 18 month period and students spend one day in the workplace, one day at South Metropolitan TAFE and the remaining three days at school.

The TAFE training day for this particular traineeship would be delivered on a Tuesday at the Henderson campus and the potential employer is located in Welshpool. As we secure more traineeships, the location and day of the TAFE training may change in the future.

  • Please see Susan Leach VET/Careers Coordinator Hospitality Coordinator at John Wollaston for an expressin of interest form. (The Careers office is located in The Technology Building.)

Please note: even if the training day/location and employer location does not suit your students, but you have students who would be a good fit for a traineeship, please have the student complete the form and indicate the travel distance/locations best suited and I will contact you if a suitable traineeship becomes available.

If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to contact me on my below details.

Kind Regards,
Will Devenyns
