‘Storytime in the Hills’ at the Roleystone Theatre
Affordable and FUN Local School Holiday Entertainment for Young Children

Storytime in the Hills is local & affordable ‘school holiday’ entertainment for children around ages 3-10 years.

The plays are being directed by local Primary School Music Specialist Bree Hartley (has been an active member of the Roleystone Theatre for over 20 years). Bree teaches at Armadale Primary School and lives in Kelmscott.

Two short plays are being presented with an intermission in between with fresh fruit served as a snack during intermission.

Details about the two plays (with catchy songs and opportunities for audience participation):

Amy’s Bedtime Story
Written by local Performing Arts Primary School Specialist Teacher - Nicole George
Amy is a young girl whose bedtime story becomes an adventure when her bed become a sailing ship! Along the way she meets pirates and water sprites… but she also learns about friendship and bravery too!

Kyle’s Rainbow Day
Written by local Performing Arts Primary School Specialist Teacher - Nicole George
It’s free dress day at school and Kyle is excited to wear the shirt his Granddad gave him… but for some reason his school friends think it’s an odd choice for a boy! By the end of the school day they have all learned that it’s ok to like different things… and that we’re all amazing, just like the rainbow!

Director Bree Hartley says “Come along for an interactive and fun theatre experience specifically created for children!”
“These plays were designed to be a fun and lighthearted way to explore some of the struggles small children face with a big emphasis on FUN!”
“Writer Nicole George is a local teacher (who teaches at West Byford Primary School and lives in Byford) and parent and as such has a unique insight into the minds of young children.” “She wanted to give young children an easy-access theatre experience that would be engaging and worthwhile.”
“At only $5 per ticket it is an affordable family outing and one that is sure to be a highlight of the holidays.”

The cast for these two plays with songs is a mix of skilled and experienced adult/young adult performers, as well as children treading the stage for the very first time.
