Our Year 10 students and staff have returned from a fantastic four days on the Cape to Cape track. While the weather was somewhat cool and windy, this did not detract from the spectacular scenery and the amazing social interactions that occurred during the week. The staff and students enjoyed a range of activities including; trekking through some incredible ocean and forest scenery, exploring dark and ancient caves, learning about the geographical , Indigenous and European history of the Cape Naturalist region and strengthening lasting friendships while chatting around a roaring camp fire. Some of the feedback from the students has included;

‘I learnt that everyone needed each other to get through the week, we were all tired, missing home, sore and very sensitive by the end of the five days but together we all got through it and had the most amazing time.’

‘I learnt to become close with everyone, make people smile when they looked down and when they were tired give them a shoulder to lean on and let them take a break from it all, I have become close with the people I lost touch with and I have this experience to thank for that, it was a once in a life time experience with great peers and teachers.’

‘Discovering that I do have the ability to push myself beyond my comfort zone even in times of doubt, learning that I am a lot stronger mentally, emotionally, and physically then I think I am.’

I would like to extend a thank you to all the staff who accompanied the Year 10 students on this great experience. A big thank you to; David Crawford, Sally Banks, Pauline Galley, Brendan Kilmartin, Quentin Hess, Jessica Dunn, Vania McGowan and Anne Harris.
