Technology Week in the Secondary School
Congratulations to all involved in Technology Week activities last week. The highlight was the first rate exhibition of student work in the Technology Centre. In keeping with past years, all of the Technology & Enterprise subjects were represented in the display which gave parents, staff and students an excellent insight into the scope of this important learning area. For images see VET/CAREERS sectionor the School Facebook page: Link

Year 10 Cape to Cape Encounter
Cape for Anne Ford

The second annual Cape to Cape trek for our Year 10 students was conducted last week. Led by Co-Curricular Coordinator David Crawford, the students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to trek and camp out along the picturesque coastline of our south west. Inclement weather did not dampen the spirits of the students who learned a lot about their personal capacity to be resourceful, persevere, take risks and help others. My brief conversation with one boy as he lugged his gear to his parent's car to go home entailed, "I am very tired but the experience was awesome. I had the best time." This positivity was mirrored in all of the feedback we have received from the students. They loved the opportunity to be with their friends in a beautiful, natural environment and undertake a physical challenge which tested them individually and collectively.

Thank you to David Crawford and all of the staff involved in ensuring that the Year 10 Encounter was a resounding success.

Instrumental Concerts
The Primary and Secondary Instrumental Concerts are special occasions showcasing the work of our talented Music students.

It was only a few years ago that students of all ages would perform in one concert. Such has been the growth of our Instrumental Program that separate concerts became necessary and continue to flourish. This week I attended both concerts and thoroughly enjoyed the performances of children from Pre Primary to Year 11. Congratulations to all involved and thank you to our 2017 Music Tutors, Arts staff, parent and student helpers, 2018 Arts Prefect Katelyn Clark and our Music Coordinator Rory Marchant without whose energy and enthusiasm the Concerts would not take place.

Farewell to our Community Relations Officer
It is with sadness that we bid farewell to our Community Relations Officer Rachel Tierney today. Mrs Tierney has made a strong contribution in a very diverse role. her expertise in publications, marketing, photography and digital media to name just a few areas - will be missed. We thank Mrs Tierney and wish her well for the future.

With good wishes
Anne Ford
